Attendance Close Up

Headteacher's Welcome

My name is Mr. Tehan and I am proud to have been Headteacher here since 2013.  Our staff, children and visitors all agree that St. Chad's is a great place to work and learn with a strong community feel.

In 2019, we were absolutely delighted that OFSTED judged us to be ‘a good and improving school’ which was testament to the hard work and dedication of our pupils, staff and families. What was most pleasing was that our pastoral work with our families was recognised as a real strength. We were judged to be a good school by the diocese during our RE inspection too.

We pride ourselves on many things:

  • We live out the Gospel values for the good of the wider community

  • The honour of being the Cathedral school.

  • The many different backgrounds from which our families come.

  • Above national average combined SATs results for the past four years.

  • Superb links with many community projects.

  • The good behaviour of the children.

As a father of three children who all attended a catholic school, I know how important it is to be assured that your children are part of a faith-filled community where they are safe and happy. I believe that St Chad's is just that, and we prepare our children to use their virtues, talents and skills to enrich our great city.

St Chad's Assembly

To all connected with the St Teresa of Calcutta Academy,

I am sending you a short message to update you on the planned expansion and growth of our academy during the coming year.

I start by saying thank you and best wishes to our CSEL and former Executive Headteacher, Glen Alexander, who retires at the end of August. I would also like to offer thanks and best wishes to other colleagues who may be retiring or leaving our family of schools.

I am pleased to announce that St Joseph’s Catholic Primary School, The Rosary Catholic Primary School and St Chad’s Catholic Primary School plan to join our Academy.

A formal 28 day first consultation will begin on Wednesday 2nd September. More details of this process to emerge in the weeks ahead.

It has certainly been an incredible academic year and period of great reflection for us all. We pray that we emerge stronger as a result of the challenges we have faced.

In September we come back together in the spirit of partnership and collaboration, as we look to provide the very best standard of education to all youngsters we are privileged to serve.

With every best wish,

Colin Crehan

School Attendance – Covid Update

Welcome to St Chad's Catholic Primary School

Thank you for taking the time to visit our website and for taking an interest in our school.  Hopefully, you should be able to find much of the information you seek from our site. If however, you would prefer to call us then please don't hesitate to contact us.

At St Chad's our first priority is your child's welfare and therefore there may be occasions when our concern about your child means that we have to consult other agencies even before we contact you. The procedures we follow have been laid down by the Birmingham Safeguarding Children Board. If you want to know more about these procedures, please come and speak to us.
