Lee Connelly has teamed up with M&S to get 10,000 school children gardening in one week. St. Chad’s were lucky enough to be chosen to take part.
Lee is a children’s gardening expert, he is also known as The Skinny Jean Gardener and many of the children knew him as the CBBC Blue Peter Gardener.
Each child was given some seeds that they could take home and nurture, Lee provided them with tips on how to make them grow. Pupils will be encouraged to bring their home-nurtured plants back to school to start a mini allotment within the school grounds.
Along with seedling kits from the M&S Little Garden campaign Lee and the team provided us with everything we need to start and care for our new school allotment from seeds to watering products and tools.
Lee was extremely impressed with the children’s passion and knowledge and has asked the children to send him photographs of the project as it develops.
We cannot wait to get started, keep an eye open for the changes to the school grounds.
