Top Reads Per Class

We have launched "our Top 100" books across the school for all children to have read by the time they leave St. Chad's. Each class has been allocated books to read. You can find these books on our website. We have one copy of every book for the children to borrow and bring home to read. When your child has read a book, they will get a stamp on their reading card. The aim is to read all their class books by the end of the summer term. Perhaps you could read them too so that you can discuss the books together!

Here are some tips to help your child rise to the challenge:

  • Talk with your child about the books they read/are reading. Get them to tell you about the story.

  • Have your child read aloud to you or to a sibling

  • You read the book to your child

  • Discuss the types of books that your child likes to read

  • What type of books do you like to read

  • Make reading a regular activity

If you have any copies of these books, in good condition, that you no longer wish to keep, we would be very grateful if you could donate them to the school.
